A datacenter proxy is an IP address hosted in a cloud data center — AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean, OVH, or similar — that acts as an intermediary between your client and the target server. When you route traffic through a datacenter proxy, the target website sees the proxy’s IP instead of yours.

Unlike residential proxies (which use IPs from real consumer ISPs like Comcast or BT) or mobile proxies (which use 4G/5G carrier IPs), datacenter IPs come from commercial cloud and hosting providers. The IP ranges are publicly known and catalogued in IP reputation databases.

When Datacenter Proxies Work Well
